Online Courses

What about video playback?

This site utilizes HTML 5 video playing MP4 video files embedded in our pages. All current browsers support HTML 5 video, however, the look and functionality can be different from browser to browser. We recommend Firefox for the best viewing experience. Alternately, you may wish to download the MP4 video files to your device and play them back in video player applications such as Quicktime or Windows Media Player.

What’s included in Online Courses?

You get a number of playback options, including a Streaming Player for online viewing that includes Full Screen, iPad 2+ / iPhone 4+ playback, download links to the Lesson video clips and the Follow Along Image Files to use working along with the Lessons.

How do Online Courses and Presets Downloads work?

Immediately after checkout, you will receive an email with access information to the Course streaming/download page. If you do not see the email in your inbox, check your spam folder. Click the link in the body of the email to complete your registration process. We recommend the latest versions of Firefox, Safari or Chrome as the best browsers to use for viewing and downloading.

How do I access my Online Courses and Presets?

First, log in to your ‘Account’ from the top navigation menu. Select ‘Playlist’, which is a full list of available Online Courses and Presets. Find yours and click the title link. If you purchased that course or presets, you will be directed to the streaming/download page. If you haven’t purchased yet, you will be asked to join and directed to the ‘Shop’ page to make your purchase.

Can I download the lesson videos?

Yes, you may download the lesson MP4 zipped video files to your computer using the links provided on the streaming page.

What about ZIP Files?

ZIP or zipped files are compressed files and folders, which reduces file size and encapsulates the files into 1 web-friendly file for transport. Once you have downloaded the ZIP files, use a ZIP Utility Application to expand them. If you don’t have one, you may download the FREE Stuffit Expander and install it on your computer.

What about ‘Follow Along Image Files’?

Follow Along Image Files are the images used in the Lesson videos. They are included so you can follow along at your own pace. DNG, PSD and JPG are the most common file types. They may be named anything and may be placed anywhere you like. They are copyright protected and are for your personal educational use only and may not be distributed in any way.

Do Online Courses require a plugin or any additional software?

The Online Player requires the Flash plugin for your Browser. There is a fallback to an HTML 5 player, but at this point in time, HTML 5 reliability has mixed results. You must also have Javascript enabled in your browser, which is on by default in all modern browsers.
